The final regular season week-end is finally upon us. We have surely been blessed with some great weather and some even better lacrosse this season.
Division 1 standings have been settled and six teams will pool up and square off to fill the final 2 play-off spots.
Red hot Orangeville leap frogged Divisional rivals Brampton and Halton Hills to grab 2nd spot in the North. Niagara and Six Nations played a dandy of a game as the crowd was treated to a thrilling 10-9 Niagara victory, giving Niagara top spot in the South.
Oshawa and Niagara have earned the bye directly to the Semi Finals on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Iceland Fields in Mississauga.
Orangeville, Burlington, and Brampton form Pool 1 in their Round Robin Series. The winner of this series goes on to play Niagara in the semis. Six Nations, Halton Hills, and Hamilton round out Pool 2. Winner of this round robin squares off against Oshawa in the other semi final game. All of these games need a winner, so there will be OT if need be (2 x 4min halves).
Barbour Fields, just outside of Orangeville, in Hillsburg/Erin is the site of this week's action. Division 1 Round Robin games start at 9:00am and take us right to the last scheduled game at 4:30pm.
Here's the sched:
9:00am - Brampton vs Burlington, 10:30am - Hamilton vs Halton Hills, 12:00pm - Orangeville vs Brampton, 1:30pm - Six Nations vs Hamilton, 3:00pm - Burlington vs Orangeville, and 4:30pm - Halton Hills vs Six Nations.

Cherry Beach Fields in Toronto did not dissappoint as it proved to be a fantastic venue for the day's action. Oshawa II caught fire winning both of their tilts as they took advantage of a tough London loss to Mississauga to jump into the 4th spot going into the final week-end. With Peterborough, Mississauga, and Toronto all winning out, London dropped down to 5th spot. Week 6 may very well prove to be a preview of some possible DII semi final match-ups. With contests like Beaches vs London, Mississauga vs Oshawa 2, and London up against their second tough match of the day with Peterborough, we won't know who draws who until the end of the day.
Division 3 semifinals will be comprised of the 5th to 8th seeds in the DII regular season. Windsor and Newmarket have their sites squarely set on their most important game of their season which is slated to face-off at 10:30am. The winner of this game will nab a spot into the semis. The loser will need to come up big in their second game of the day and hope for some help; even a tie makes things nerve racking for each of the teams. At this time of the year - teams want the W under their belt.
Although a few teams were mathematically eliminated from post-season contention, it didn't stop Barrie from making things interesting for KW by handing them their 3rd of 4 straight losses. Each of these teams continue to have an important role in the outcome of the final standings, as all of these players display the true passion and heart of a typical Canadian Lacrosse player.
Be sure to bring an appetite to the field. There's a rumour going around that our hosts from Orangeville will be cooking up some pretty good eats.
