Halton Hills Bulldogs

Regular Season 2009

Halton Hills U19 Bulldogs

October 19, 2008

The Halton Hills U19 Bulldogs won all 3 games during Week 6 of the 08 U19 season. The wins gave the Dogs a 10-2-0 record which also clinched them top spot and the #1 seed for provincials.

The Dogs opened the day with a victory over Oshawa by a score of 4-3. The win kept the Dogs hopes of finishing first alive as each game was a must win for the Dogs.

The second win of the day came against Brampton. The game was pretty close throughout before the Dogs pulled away in the late going. The final score favoured the Dogs 9-4.

The third game of the day turned out to be a one game showdown for top spot. Oshawa has been the dominant force in U19 since the league's inception. In fact, the Dogs morning victory over Oshawa marked the first time Halton Hills had ever beaten Oshawa in U19. That streak dated back to 2001.

After a very tight first half, the Dogs were pure dynamite in the second half. With the score 6-5 after one half, the Dogs scored 4 times and kept the Blue Knights off the board. The 10-5 win clinched first place for the Dogs.

The OJMFLL provincials will be held on Sunday, October 26 at Hershey Fields in Mississauga. The Dogs will play Niagara at 12noon in one semi-final while Orangeville and Oshawa will face-off in the other. The winners will meet at 4:30pm for the Ontario Championship.
